Brooklyn Nine-Nine is one of the best workplace comedies. The show showcases the lives of detectives in a Precinct. Most of these detectives are just perfect at their job. But among these brilliant detectives, there are two detectives which are just bored in their life but are not at all boring. In fact, these two become the butt of many jokes because of their weird way of doing things and handling situations. But that is only true for their old age. Once, they were the most handsome and the most brilliant detectives in the New York Police Department.
The most important about both of these characters is that both of them are so much dependent on each other. They literally do everything together. Because of always being with each other, they are mistaken for being gay couples. They do share a great bond with each other as they have been working together for thirty years. More than anything, what makes their relationship best is that they are excited about others’ likes and dislikes. Their main interest is, of course, food. Throughout the nine seasons, we saw them eat tons of food and make a mess in the Precinct as well.
Apart from being a hilarious duo, Hitchcock and Scully also show a contrast between the types of detectives a police Precinct can have. They both have solved many crimes in their youth but now they just want a simple desk job where they don’t have to do a lot of work, but just sit and sit and sit. Fun fact, both are champions at sitting, they even competed with Rosa on that. They are ever enthusiastic about everything but work. It would not be wrong to say that they are best at goofing around and doing minimal work.
